"Making the distinction between bisexuality and pansexuality is not intended to suggest that bisexuals are “closed” in their attraction. Just because a bisexual is not attracted to those outside of binary gender and sex, it does not make them a negative, in the same way lesbians are not morally inferior because they are not attracted to males, or gay men to females. This is not a game of who is the most free-loving, gender-blind, open mind, but simply an accurate descriptor for a part of someone’s identity."

You know, as a bisexual individual I’ve received a lot of flack because of this. That for some reason we are not open-minded enough. It doesn’t work that way. In the same way someone doesn’t chose to be gay, pansexual, asexual, a lesbian; a bisexual does not chose to be the way they are. And I really wish people could understand this.

Reeeeeewind. Bisexual means ‘attracted to two genders’, not ‘attracted to the binary genders’. You can be bisexual and attracted to women and agender people, or genderqueer and men, or any combination.

Pretending that the word bisexuality only means into men and women is binarist as fuck. Bi only means two, not the specific two that society privileges over the others. Bisexuals can be into any two genders, not just men and women. Anything less than this realization is binarist bullshit.
